This Friday the adaptation of the hit young adult novel centers on grievous violence and children, who in author Suzanne Collins’s  post-apocalyptic future are subjected to an annual ritual wherein they murder each other as part of a nationwide reality show.

The Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross is the first of a trilogy. Explained as a cross between the Olympics, Outward Bound and “Survivor” a country called Panem has instituted leaders to keep down a restive populace. By randomly picking a boy and a girl from federation districts. They are used as entertainment in a contest kill-or-be-killed group hunt with only one winner.  rated Pg-13
