St. Louis Presents Cavalia A Magical Encounter

By Mary Miller Cullins

“Cavalia celebrates horses, humans, and their bond”. (New York Times)  If you work around or near downtown you’ve probably seen the White Big Top tents next to Busch Stadium.  The grand scale production, Cavalia, opened this week and runs through mid-April.  Enjoyed by 3.5 million people,  Cavalia is a lavish production involving 38 riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers, musicians, and features 45 magnificent horses from all over the world.  A show unlike any other, Cavalia celebrates the relationship between humans and horses, reinventing the equestrian arts.

This show is a “can’t miss” for horse lovers.  Although the San Francisco Examiner reports, “Cavalia takes horse play to a new level, even for non-horsey folk.”  And the Washington Post wrote, “Impressive. Highly refined. Indeed a Wonder.”  All that, right here in downtown St. Louis.

This is a “fairy tale-like” show is from the imagination of a Cirque Du Soleil founder.  The show is artfully staged at every turn; a mega scale production on every level.  Ticket prices vary, ranging from $30-$161.  It’s a little less expensive to book tickets for a weeknight.  Matinee and evening shows are available.
