“Trailnet On Tap” 2013

By Mary Miller Cullins

“Trailnet On Tap” is a casual monthly event that brings local bike/walk experts to St. Louis city neighborhoods in fun, relaxed settings.  If you weren’t sure, Trailnet is the area’s leader in fostering healthy, active, and vibrant communities where walking, cycling, and the use of public transit are a way of life.

This month, you are invited to join the group on Wednesday, January 23, from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Cafe Ventana located at 3919 West Pine.  The topic will be Biking on a Budget, presented by Jason Torbitzky, Urban Shark manager.  He will present on how to bike commute while pinching pennies.  Essential, affordable gear will be showcased, including winter items.  If you are deciding whether or not to bike to work, this will be a great session.

Trailnet on Tap brings the bicycling community together to network and address issues related to livability in our region.  By bringing the series to some favorite local spots, Trailnet can attract a wide range of individuals to join together to social network and promote active living in their own neighborhoods.

Topics are submitted by neighborhood associations and individuals from throughout St. Louis.  All event attendees will recieve a custom made Trailnet TravelGreen t-shirt.  Free snacks will also be provided!  If there are drink specials you can check Trailnet’s website for those updates.

The 2013 series will fall on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (Nov. and Dec. TBA due to the holidays).  For information, dates, and locations, you can visit the website at www.trailnet.org/events/trailnet-on-tap.  For live tweeting from events follow on twitter at twitter.com/Trailnet.
